The monitor has a widescreen aspect ratio of 1680x1050, enabling the VA2232wm to display HD content in its native format, with no distortion or stretching. The monitor uses a 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, which darkens the black shades on the screen. This in turn causes the picture to look better. The ECO-mode of the VA2232wm reduces overall power consumption. As a result, the life of the backlight is extended. When compared to another ViewSonic monitor, the VA2231wm, the VA2232wm has some minor disadvantages, such as a lower resolution. Overall though, they appears to be almost the same product.
