Sony BVM-E170

The Sony BVM-E170 is a premium seventeen inch OLED master monitor, part of the Trimaster EL professional series. Size is the only difference between this monitor and the higher cost BVM-E250, which measures up at twenty-five inches.

The advantages of OLED over LED come from the fact that OLED emits light from organic compounds rather than a backlight, which allows it to reach deeper blacks than LED. This design also makes for a higher contrast ratio. With a 1920 x 1080 resolution, this monitor displays 1080p HD. The 12-bit signal processing engine was designed specifically for this line of monitors, and is geared toward offering a consistent picture quality. Another feature designed specifically for this line of monitors is the black aluminum chassis, which is lighter and thinner than previous models.
