NEC MultiSync E231W
$300.00
Released August, 2010
The Pros:High degree of image clarity for the price. Excellent colour reproduction, highly accurate out of box. Includes complete set of requisite cables.
The Cons:Directional adjustment button is clumsy and inaccurate, causes some frustrating when it's necessary. Lacks HDMI port, many competing models have this at this price point. User manual is inexplicably not included in the box.
The NEC MultiSync E231W is a 23” LED-backlit high-definition display monitor that reduces energy consumption by up to 40% in comparison to standard CCFL-backlit LCD displays. In fact, it also provides a 28W consumption savings when compared to its predecessor, the EA231W (2009).

What critics especially find appealing, however, is the attached 4-way ergonomic stand with a 110mm height-adjust coupled with pivot, tilt, and swivel features. The whole display can in fact be rotated into a vertical orientation, if the user so desires. They also like the unit’s carbon footprint meter, which calculates the exact reduction of green gas emissions. Additional features include a 1920x1280 native resolution, an ambient light sensor, and three input options: DisplayPort, VGA, and DVI.
