The series uses the unique f-ENGINE, a chip that enhances the color and brightness of the picture, manipulating them independently. The LG W2453V has a glossy black cabinet, easy to use touch panel controls, and an intelligent sensor that automatically adjusts the image based on the content and the room-lighting conditions. It has a 2 ms response time, a 1080p resolution, the HDMI input and the 50,000:1 Digital Fine Contrast (DFC) ratio that all work together to make a monitor that is great for graphic or video editing. Overall, the 24-inch monitor would fit in well in a home or work office.

Difficult to read command list on front of monitor for changing settings as the font is very light coloured.

when light conditions are borderline, the ambient light sensor leads to constant dimming and brightening. there should be a larger delay, with the error being on the side of going bright.

#lg_w2453v For the most part I like the monitor but there is an issue I have with it that makes me wish I had not bought it. It has no mounting holes. Normally this is okay but if you happen to want or need to move it off the desk/counter then you are out of luck. Why would they have LG leave this almost standard option off the product? My 19" Hyundai monitor has them. My 21" Acer does as well. It bothered me that LG has a spec sheet that lists the weight of the monitor with and without the stand. Why?
Anyway, I emailed LG and asked what was needed to do to mount this monitor. Here is the entire email response back...
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting LG Electronics concerning your computer-related inquiry. The unit does not have mounting holes. If you wish to mount it there may be a third party mount that will allow to mount it without the screw holes.
If you have other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again either via email, or by calling our customer service division at 800-243-0000 at your convenience.

#lg_w2453v I just bought this monitor from Best Buy here in Canada for $269 CAN funds. Unbelievable deal. I had a 22 inch which I am passing down to my son because I just could not miss out on this good a deal. I was just checking it out earlier in the week for $339 but was on the fence.
I noticed later on in the day that Futureshop has this on for that price, and the price was not advertised for Best Buy, but I am guessing they matched the price as they do own Futureshop here now I am pretty sure.
For $269 CAN definatly a great buy. Been playing Wolfenstein and a crysis and it looks stunning on this big monitor.

#lg_w2453v Touch Sensitive controls are easy to use and add to this displays overall style. I went from a 2053BW from Samsung to this and there is NO bleeding whatsoever compared to the Samsungs in the same line. Very Imprressed!!!

#lg_w2453v as with most or all screens, it is difficult to set options with the little buttons (in this case static buttons), leds, and sparse on-screen icons. wouldn't it be great if screen settings could be set via a form driven by sw on the host computer?

#lg_w2453v I purchased the monitor for use with my Xbox 360 and it was so impressive I decided to purchase a second one and now use them as dual monitors for my desktop. I replaced two 19 inch Samsung monitors which are excellent and I had no issue with and continue to have no issue with. I just couldn't resist the price which gives this LCD a good value and of course the size increase.
If anyone is looking for a new monitor this is an excellent choice and it will not disappoint anyone who buys one.
