With 14-bit gamma correction for smooth reproduction of gradient colors, and a backlight stabilizer, the 720 aims to satisfy professionals who require superior color accuracy, although it has a limited feature set for demanding, video-centric applications, lacking the HDMI ports and 1080p support available with the LaCie 324, for instance. The 720 features a 600:1 contrast ratio and 8 ms response time, specifications improved upon in the 724 and top-of-the-line 730. An attachable hood to shield the display from ambient light, calibration software, and a colorimeter can be added at extra cost.
