Gateway HD2201

$200.00 Released July, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Great out of the box, no need to adjust the settings. All the inputs allow it to work with a wide variety of devices. Colors are bright and vibrant, easy to find small icons in application software.

The Cons:Touch controls are a little awkward for people with bigger hands. Stand won't let it pivot or rotate, pretty much have to be seated right for the monitor instead of adjusting the monitor to your seating. Colors aren't very accurate, not ideal for photo editing.

The HD2201 is a mid-level model in a series of monitors released by Gateway in late summer of 2008. The HD2201 features a 22” widescreen display at a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050.

This design makes the HD2201 ideal for multimedia, including viewing video, photo editing and gaming. The contrast ratio is rated at 2000:1, meaning users will see distinct blacks and whites along with its 5-millisecond response time, which alleviates blurring with fast moving imagery. This monitor can display both digital and analog content using the DVI-D (with HDCP) or VGA port, respectively. HDMI and component inputs are also accepted, allowing for the monitor to be used as a 720p compliant HDTV. Other features include picture-in-picture with user-adjustable video transparency, plus Energy Star compliance. Users looking for a smaller or larger screen should look at the other monitors in the series; the HD1900 or the FHD2401.
