Dell UltraSharp U2410

$600.00 Released January, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:A huge number of inputs - dual DVI, VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort, component and composite. Beautiful high-end hIPS panel - capable of accurate colour reproduction, great viewing angles with little shifting in colour or contrast. Goes through a small bit of calibration at the factory - improves drastically on the accuracy of the default settings.

The Cons:Still needs potentially expensive custom colour calibration for the best colour results. Less accurate out of the box than the previous flagship model (2408WFP). Blacks cannot match that of S-PVA panel monitors such as the previous generation 2408WFP.

The Dell UltraSharp U2410 is a 24” flat panel LCD computer monitor. The display is fully HD compatible, due to its 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. The aspect ratio of the U2410 is set at 16:10, meaning it's capable of displaying widescreen video content while still maintaining enough vertical space to be useful for productivity applications and web browsing.

Picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture support is included for viewing multiple video inputs at once. This display comes with factory-tuned Adobe RGB and sRGB modes to minimize the need for further color calibration. Video inputs include one VGA, DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort, Component and Composite port. A combination media card reader/USB 2.0 hub has been built-in to the monitor as well. The Dell ST2010 uses approximately 75 watts of power when in use.

Yale: #dell_ultrasharp_u2410 So far not very impressed. Louder than my 2209WA while suffering from the green to pink tinting issue. Probably avoid, even if you get it on sale like I did, dual 2209WAs would serve you a lot better for the same price, despite the lower resolutions, fewer inputs and technically 'inferior' panels - who cares about panel colour consistency anyway, right? Well this is on Dell's Days of Deals today for $429. It was such a good deal my hand instinctively went for the wallet. If it's a refurbished unit with tinting issues I might just snap and shoot up a mall. Stand by.

Yale: #dell_ultrasharp_u2410 While this monitor was at its cheapest recently during the 1-day Days of Deals sale for $480, it's currently on sale 'regularly' for $500. Great deal for such a nice monitor... Dec 11, 09
